Skin of Earth by romainjl Skin of Earth by romainjl
It's a drawing of Q'orianka Kilcher that I made on paper and then colorized on Photoshop.

Fantastic portrait! I love the color use, and the way you made Photoshoping look like either watercolor or some kind of pastel or paint is really amazing. Everything looks in proportion, all the values look like they're in the right place, and the background is handled nicely.

You did a great job. Be proud!

Beautiful portrait! Loads of artistic talent is obvious in this work. I think you did great in choosing skin tone colors and the lips are superbly done. I truely believe though that your background has really brought this work of art to life! Great art Nujabes!

Beautiful style and colours! It looks both like an illustration from an old book, and, like it has been said above, a Renaissance portrait. The background is moody and inspiring. And the portrait itself is also done very well. Wonderful work!

Thank you a lot, I'm very glad you like this work! =)
I like to use this rough paper texture to express both the age and the "roughness" of all that is on earth (even our skin sometime can be like it).
And besides, I like the way it gives more depth to drawings =)

Thank you for explaining! It's true, the things you say about skin and Earth. And the paper does have a beautiful effect. :)

Fantastic! This is so well done, the anatomy is great and it reminds me of renaissance oil paintings, keep up the brilliant work!
